We are delighted to announce that our family-run business has been named the official supplier of volunteer uniforms for the 26th United Nations Climate Change Conference.
The summit – also known as COP26 – will take place at the SEC in Glasgow from 31st October to 12 November. It will bring together parties and world leaders to accelerate climate change action in line with the Paris Agreement and the goals set out by the UN.
We couldn’t be prouder to be supplying the uniforms for 1,000+ volunteers for this milestone occasion.
‘Volunteering at COP26 will be a valuable and memorable experience for many,’ said Claire Shiel, COP26’s Volunteer Manager. ‘Our volunteers can wear their uniforms with pride as they welcome delegates and represent the city and contribute to collective, global action on the future of our planet.’
All of our volunteer uniforms – which are currently being designed and produced – are made from recycled and sustainable fabrics, and will be suitable for the time of year, reflect the COP26 brand and instil a sense of pride in the volunteers.
We also pledge to plant a tree for each of the 1,000 uniforms we create, through our partnership with environmental charity, One Tree Planted.
Our Sales and Marketing director at Lion Safety, Laurie Lewis, said ‘We are delighted to have the opportunity to produce uniforms for the COP26 volunteers. To provide quality, bespoke uniforms with a huge emphasis on sustainability encapsulates everything we believe in as a business.’
He added, ‘The circular economy is at the heart of our operations and with such a high-profile global event being held so close to home, we felt strongly that we wanted to part of it and had something valuable to offer. These bespoke and sustainable uniforms will be delivered by local people and worn by local people at a global environmental event – this is a significant and proud moment for Lion Safety.’
